North West is the only Province where more people are
unemployed in the country

According to the recently released Quarterly Labour Force Survey by STATSA, the

North West is the province with the highest unemployment rate in the country. The

figure stands at 52.2%. It also recorded a net loss of 30,000 jobs in the 4th Quarter of

2023. It means that more people are falling into the poverty trap, and their dignity is

impaired.

This is a severe indictment on the government of the North West province. It reflects

poor governance, maladministration, and a lack of viable economic policies to grow the

economy and create jobs.

For years, COPE has warned that the provincial and local governments have been rocked by egoistic leadership factional fights, jostling for power, and a race to steal as much as possible. They have no empathy for the people and care less about their plight.

We call on the people of the North West to remove the current government and thereby end the suffering caused by bad leadership. COPE is the credible alternative to save the province from the destruction caused by the corrupt ruling elites.
